Prince Karl Franz the next heir of a little kingdom in Europe, got the permission of a day off by the present King, his grandfather (long story short; his parent's died when he was small... so sad). Well, Prince Karl takes off to the University of Heidelberg in his gap year. There he stayed at an inn owned by a man named Ruther. He made friends in Heidelberg and drank a lot of beer. On the other hand, Ruther had a niece named Kathy who was a waitress at the inn. It turns out that Kathy and the Prince falls in love. They decided to escape the whole royalty thing by escaping to Paris.
Princess Margherita (the princess, prince Karl Franz had to marry; arranged marriage) got a hold of this news. So, she goes off to Heidelberg to meet Kathy eye to eye, while the Prince came back to his palace because the King was sick. Princess Margherita told Kathy to leave her Prince. Kathy, was depressed, she called off the escaping plan.
Sadly in the end, Prince Karl Franz had to replace his sick grandfather and leave Kathy to marry Margherita. Kathy was left all alone to marry her cousin.
